The Institute of Environmental Radioactivity at Fukushima University (hereinafter referred to as "the IER") recognizes the importance of protecting personal information, and in handling such information, the IER will comply with all applicable laws and regulations, and will make every effort to protect personal information.

The IER will properly manage personal information and take necessary measures to prevent loss, destruction, falsification, or leakage. In addition, the University will take appropriate information security measures against unauthorized access and computer viruses.

The IER uses lawful and fair means to collect personal information for administrative purposes only and within the scope of the purpose of use.

3. Use of personal information

The IER will properly manage personal information entrusted to us and will not disclose personal information to third parties except in the following cases.

When the person concerned has given consent
When the University discloses personal information to a contractor to whom the University outsources its services in order to provide a requested service.
When it is necessary to disclose the information in accordance with laws and regulations

4. Security measures for personal information

The IER takes all possible security measures to ensure the accuracy and safety of personal information.

5.Disclosure, correction, and suspension of use of personal information

The IER will swiftly handle requests received from indivisuals for disclosure, correction, suspention of use, etc. in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations, (once the institute has confirmed the individual's identity).

6. Compliance with laws and other regulations

The IER will comply with Japanese laws, regulations, and other norms applicable to personal information in its possession, and will review and improve the contents of this policy as appropriate.
