Environmental Radioactivity Seminar (Tomioka) held on January 30, 2026

On January 30, 2026, we held the “Environmental Radioactivity Seminar (Tomioka)” at the Tomioka Town Art & Media Center, inviting Professor Asanuma-Brice Cécile from the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS). Professor Brice has been continuously conducting research in disaster-affected areas since the earthquake from her professional perspective in urban planning. In this seminar, she gave a lecture to students from Fukushima University and Nagasaki University, sharing her expertise on environmental radioactivity and regional reconstruction from an urban planning viewpoint, and discussed the revitalization of Fukushima with them.

IER will continue to hold such seminars for students and contribute to the development of human resources involved in the reconstruction of the Hamadori region.
