Visitors from Providence University (Taiwan) (June 17, 2026)

On June 17, 2026, 17 students and 2 faculty members from the Department of Applied Chemistry and the Department of Cosmetic Science at Providence University, Taiwan, visited the Institute of Environmental Radioactivity (IER).

Fukushima University and Providence University concluded an academic and student exchange agreement in April 2025. Since then, the two universities have promoted student exchanges. This visit was held on June 16 to 17 as part of a student exchange program between the two universities.

The visit began with welcoming remarks from Professor OYAMA Dai of the Faculty of Symbiotic Systems Science. Following this, Professor NANBA Kenji, Director of the IER, provided an overview of the IER, its faculty members, and its research activities. The guests then visited the laboratory of Professor RAHMAN Ismail, where they received a brief explanation of the laboratory’s work.

Through the implementation of this program, it is expected that the partnership between Fukushima University and Providence University will further deepen in both academic and student exchange.
