Social Media Policy

This policy outlines the operation and management of the official social media account (hereinafter “Account”) of Institute of Environmental Radioactivity, Fukushima University (hereinafter” the IER”).
1. Purpose
The IER use SNS to disseminate information related to the IER, including its initiatives, events, education, research, and student activities, with the purpose of enhancing our public relations activities, user’s understanding of and interest in the IER.
2. Official Account Information
The following official Account is managed and operated by the IER.

3. Management Policy
The Account is used solely for the purpose of disseminating information from the IER. Replies and comments generally are not given in response to comments or inquiries received through the Account.
If you have any comments or questions to the IER, please contact us through the "Contact Access" page on our website.
The IER may take actions ("follow", "share", etc.) on other accounts/tweets only when it is deemed beneficial to the IER and users. Such actions do not imply the IER endorses any particular account.
4. Disclaimer
While the IER makes thorough efforts to disseminate accurate information from the Account, it bears no responsibility for the consequences of any actions taken by users based on this information.
5. Prohibited Content and Deletion of Users’ Posts
The IER reserves the right to delete posts or block user’s account without notice in any of following cases.
- That which violates or may violate laws and regulations;
- That which defames or slanders a specific individual or group;
- That which is related to political or religious activities;
- That which infringes on intellectual property rights of the IER or any third parties, such as copyrights, trademark rights, and portrait rights;
- That which is intended for advertising, publicity, solicitation, sales activities, or other commercial purposes;
- That which discriminates or encourages discrimination on the basis of race, ideology, creed, etc., or offends public order and morals;
- That which contains false or untrue information, baseless rumors, or which promotes rumors;
- That which infringes privacy, such as identifying, disclosing, or divulging personal information without the consent of the person concerned;
- Any act that impersonates another user or a third party;
- Harmful programs, etc.
- Inappropriate content including obscene expressions, etc.;
- Falsifying all or part of any posts from the IER Account;
- Content unrelated to the posts from the IER Account;
- Information that the IER deems inappropriate, or links containing such information.
6. Copyrights
Unless otherwise specified, the copyrights of the content posted by the Account belongs to the IER or legitimate right holders.
Except for Personal use, quotations, and other uses permitted under copyright law, content posted by the Account may not be reproduced or reprinted without IER's permission. When quoting, etc., please be sure to clearly indicate the source.
The fact that a comment is posted indicates that the contributor grants the IER the right to use the posted contents on a worldwide, free of charge and on a non-exclusive basis, and agrees not to exercise any copyright or other proprietary rights against the IER.
7. Revisions of the Policy
This policy is subject to change without prior notice as necessary.
8. Others
Matters not specified in this policy shall be in accordance with the “Fukushima University Information System Operation and Management Regulations” and the “Fukushima University Social Media Policy”. In addition, the operation of the IER account will be conducted in accordance with the respective rules and regulations set forth by Fukushima University.
